The Czech Republic has the highest rate of beer consumption per capita in the world and centuries of brewing tradition! There is evidence that hops were being grown in the Czech lands as early as 850 A.D. The first brewing on record is attributed to Bohemian monks at the Břevnov Monastery near Prague Castle in 990 A.D. Beer is a big deal in Czechia!
