Eigensinnig, aber liebenswürdig; das sind die typischen Waidler. Dorfbewohner jenseits der Zivilisation, wo sich Fuchs und Has´ Gute Nacht sagen. Das glauben zumindest einige Stadtmenschen. Aber die glauben ja auch, daß man Berge nur überwindet, indem man einen möglichst hohen Gang einlegt. Tom & Basti trüben die Idylle des Landlebens, decken so manche Ungereimtheit auf und erschüttern das Gedankengerüst über die Waidler. Echte bayerische Wirtshausmusik trifft auf philosophische Nachdenklichkeit, sehr zur Freude der Lachmuskeln. In Liedern, Szenen und mit flotten Sprüchen bestätigen sie das Klischee der weltfremden Hinterwäldler. Nur eben nicht so, wie man es erwarten würde!
