Close to You

Vier Jahre nach seiner Transition entscheidet sich Sam, seine Familie zu besuchen. Schon während der Reise dorthin weckt eine Begegnung im Zug Erinnerungen, die neue und alte Gefühle hervorrufen. Bei seiner Familie angekommen, wird Sam mit liebevoll gemeinten, aber oft auch unbedachten Unterstützungsversuchen und schmerzhaften Kommentaren konfrontiert. Der Film, häufig improvisiert, gibt unter der Regie von Dominic Savage und mit Hauptdarsteller Elliot Page, der auch am Drehbuch mitwirkte, authentisch Einblicke in die Herausforderungen und warmen Momente, die Sam als trans* Mann bei seiner Rückkehr erlebt.
