Rochuskapelle - Auf historischen Spuren zur Rochuskapelle
Kirchen und Kapellen prägen das Stadtbild von Wangen in besonderer Weise. Darüber hinaus bezeugen Bilder, Brunnen und Skulpturen, wie sich die Wangener in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten mit dem Glauben auseinandersetzten. Der Höhepunkt dieser Stadtführung ist der Besuch der Rochuskapelle. Von außen wirkt sie eher schlicht. Doch ein wahrer Schatz fesselt den Betrachter sofort, wenn er über die Türschwelle tritt: Es ist die leicht gewölbte Holzdecke mit 66 bemalten Tafeln aus dem Jahr 1598. Ein unbekannter Künstler hat in Form einer Bilderbibel das Leben und Wirken Jesu und der Apostel dargestellt.
