Il Parco Archeologico della Neapolis ospita i più importanti resti storici di Siracusa, antica città greca e romana. Una visita a questi luoghi ti porterà a camminare tra millenni di storia!
Osserva la Latomia del Paradiso, una misteriosa e profonda cava di calcare dalla quale è stata estratta la pietra per costruire quest'antica città. Lasciati stupire dall'abbondanza (e dal fascino) degli alberi di agrumi e dall'Orecchio di Dionisio, una grotta alta 23 metri che si insinua nella scogliera per 65 metri. Si dice che Dionisio usasse l'eccellente acustica della caverna per origliare mentre i suoi prigionieri parlavano!
Il pezzo forte è l'anfiteatro romano di Siracusa, tutt'oggi ben conservato, che un tempo vantava 15.000 posti a sedere e portali speciali per consentire un facile accesso ai gladiatori e a tutto quello di cui necessitavano i loro incontri all'ultimo sangue.

The archaeological park of Neapolis hosts the most important ruins of the Ancient Greek and Roman city of Syracuse. You are literally walking amongst thousands of years of history!
Check out the Latomie del Paradiso, a mysterious, deep, limestone quarry that provided the stone to build this ancient city. Be wowed by the abundance of citrus trees in the area and the Ear of Dionysius, a 23-meter-high grotto that cuts into the cliffside by 65 meters. It's said that Dionysius used the excellent acoustics of the quarry to eavesdrop on his prisoners!
The highlight has to be the well-preserved Roman amphitheater of Syracuse, which once boasted 15,000 seats and special portals for easy access for gladiators and all their props.
