Die Musik ist beeinflusst von Indie/Alternative Rock und Avantgarde. Der Stil von Boas Texten ist eine Mixtur aus absurden Träumereien, Liebesliedern und manchmal bizarren und verstörenden Inhalten, doch Boas größte Stärke ist vielleicht, dass er es immer schafft, poetische Schönheit zu finden, die alles unterstreicht, was er schreibt.

Nach vielen intensiven Jahren und Alben wurde die Werkschau "Blank Expression - A History of Singles 1986-2016" von Capitol Records/Universal Music veröffentlicht und erreichte Platz 8 in den deutschen Albumcharts. Die Sammlung enthielt neben den wichtigsten Singles auch 12 neue Songs mit dem Albumtitel "Fresco - A Collection Of 12 New Songs". Das bisher letzte offizielle Album der Band war 2018 das Album "Earthly Powers" (Cargo Records) und erreichte Platz 3 der Albumcharts.
Im Jahr 2023 veröffentlichte die Band ihr ikonisches Album "Boaphenia" neu. Ursprünglich 1993 veröffentlicht, gilt das Album heute als Kult-Klassiker. Es wurde in London, New York, Long Island und Malta aufgenommen und von Tony Visconti, Craig Leon, Eroc und Boa produziert. Boa selbst sagte, dass Boaphenia durch seine Erfahrungen in den frühen 90er Jahren inspiriert wurde, insbesondere durch die kulturellen und sozialen Veränderungen, die zu dieser Zeit stattfanden. Außerdem nannte er seine wichtigsten musikalischen Einflüsse: David Bowie, Brian Wilson, Lou Reed und Can. Die umfangreiche Jubiläumsausgabe zum 30. Geburtstag enthält eine Sammlung von 10 brandneuen Songs mit dem Titel "The Porcelain Files: A Collection of 10 new Songs". Veröffentlicht von Capitol Records /Universal Music schaffte es das Album erneut in die Top 10 der deutschen Albumcharts.
Auf der Bühne spielte der Voodooclub u. a. mit Bands und Künstlern wie David Bowie, Bob Dylan, John Lydon´s Public Image Ltd., Nick Cave, Sonic Youth, Björk, The Fall, Residents, Gun Club, Iggy Pop und Manic Street Preachers. Produziert wurde der Voodooclub u. a. von Tony Visconti (David Bowie), John Leckie (Morrissey, New Order), Gareth Jones (Interpol, Depeche Mode), Gordon Raphael (Strokes), Ian Grimble (Manic Street Preachers, Bauhaus, Mumford and Sons) und arbeitete mit Aphex Twin, LFO, Schneider TM, The Notwist, Jaki Liebezeit (CAN) sowie Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls, Violent Femmes, Nine Inch Nails) zusammen.
