Calling all aspiring young comic book creators!
Join us for an action-packed afternoon of unleashing your inner superhero at our Junior Comic Book Creators Workshop. Get ready to embark on an exciting journey into the world of comics and learn how to bring your own superheroes to life!

During this in-person workshop your children (ages 8 and older) have the opportunity to learn from experienced comic book creator Jason Douglas and printing expert Dan Hills who will guide you through the process of creating your very own comic book. From brainstorming ideas and creating great stories to drawing pages and collaborating with others your children will gain valuable insights into the world of comic creation.

Whether your kids are fans of Marvel or DC this workshop is perfect for any young superhero enthusiast looking to unleash their creativity. No prior experience is required – just have them bring their imagination and enthusiasm!

Meet the Workshop Teacher
Prepare for a journey into the creative world of Jason Douglas a seasoned Michigan author with a fresh twist on storytelling. With 24 years as a teacher he blends wisdom with imagination in his recent dive into comic writing.

His debut "PARALLEL" not only sold out but earned TWO Ringo Award Nominations. This mind-bending sci-fi tale channels the likes of "Dark Mirror" and "The Twilight Zone."

His latest work "JANE AMERICAN" funded via Kickstarter and printed with Greko/Comix Well Spring paints a vivid picture of historic Plymouth Michigan. This 32-page one-shot explores themes of identity gender and self-worth delivering a captivating story reminiscent of beloved classics.

With a wealth of experience Jason becomes the workshop's ideal mentor fusing wisdom and creativity to spark young imaginations.

Since 1948 the Plymouth Historical Society (PHS) (AKA “The Friends of the Plymouth Historical Museum), a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational and historical organization, has operated through the generosity of donors who value the rich fabric of Plymouth’s important history. Plymouth is a dynamic and desirable community because of the strong relationships between businesses and residents. The Plymouth Historical Museum is both proud and honored to be a valuable staple in the community. The Museum is owned by the Society, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2023-24. The museum is dedicated to the historic preservation of artifacts and archival materials relating to Plymouth history specifically and American history generally.
