Marienkapelle und Bibliothekssaal im Kloster Hirsau
Der spätgotische Kirchenbau aus dem Jahr 1508 ist ein eindrucksvolles Zeugnis dafür, dass Hirsau auch noch am Ende des Mittelalters ein Kloster von Rang war. Er ersetzte den romanischen Vorgängerbau aus der Zeit von Abt Wilhelm. Das Obergeschoss der Kapelle beherbergte die Bibliothek des Klosters und ist nur zu besonderen Gelegenheiten zu besichtigen. Die heutige evangelische Gemeindekirche steckt voller Hinweise auf eine lange Geschichte.
Hinweis: Bibliothekssaal nur über steile Wendeltreppe zugänglich!
